Crescent Moon in Aries: Restless

Tonight we transition from the New Moon into the Crescent phase with the Moon in Aries.

We’re in a series of important transitions that leave us feeling restless.

The Moon in the first decan of Aries is a loner. This Moon wants to stand on his own two feet, and has learned to do just that.

The Moon applies to conjunct Chiron and the North Node, currently in a very close, partile conjunction. We want things. We’re born wanting to live, to be seen and heard, to assert ourselves in the world.

The Chiron–North Node conjunction asks, how’s that working? As children, we’re often told what we can’t have, can’t do. As adults, it can feel like it hasn’t changed much. Why is it so hard to find satisfaction? To feel that our actions matter?

The Moon, Chiron, and the North Node are all ruled by Mars n a very intense spot. Mars is in the final, anaretic, degree of Capricorn. This is the place of exaltation for Mars, where he is powerful through harnessing the patience and discipline of Saturn.

Yet planets at the end of any sign know a transition is occurring. Something is over. Something else begins.

For Mars, the shift into Aquarius reduces his power. He’s more doer than thinker, more active than fixed signs generally allow. All this planning, all this talk, all these big ideas–we need to act and act now, says Mars.

But it’s not that simple. Mars is about to meet Pluto for the first time in Aquarius, another moment giving us intel about what the Pluto in Aquarius decades will bring.

This happens quickly. The Crescent Moon is exact at 10:56 pm EST. Mars enters Aquarius at 1:05 am EST Tuesday, just two hours later. The Mars–Pluto conjunction is 24 hours later, 1:06 am on Wednesday.

All of this is within the Crescent phase, a time for sorting out what we need to be doing. This is likely to feel unsettling for everyone.

Feeling held back? Look to the Chiron–North Node conjunction. Ask, what’s holding me back? Time or resources? Knowing what to do? Or am I facing some old patterns that whisper, “Nooo, you can’t. You won’t succeed. It’s too pushy. People won’t like it.”

If we’re sensitive to the Aquarian shift, this could be frustration with too much planning and not enough action. Again, it’s worth asking, what’s really holding me back?

Pluto raises much deeper questions that will not be answered in a few days. If Pluto feels heavy, check your birth chart. Where are Pluto and Mars meeting? Where are the Moon, Chiron, and the North Node? These are clues about where our foundations will be tested.

The tight Jupiter–Saturn sextile points to one remedy for dissatisfaction. If we can, we’re invited to balance determination and acceptance, discipline and relaxation, patience and optimism.

Thank you, I relate much to well to the restlessness you speak or and feeling stuck, rather trapped, in the planning phase. All activity is close to cusps and I can look at the issues from all four of the houses LOL. Maybe time for a reading.

I’m feeling it myself, even though my chart is not catching too many direct aspects! It should shift in a few days, the most intense time anyway. And I’m available for readings as needed 🙂
