Waxing Sextile Moon in Sagittarius: Lift

Today’s waxing sextile between the Sun and Moon, happening within the Crescent phase, brings optimism and a sense of adventure.

Having checked in with the shadow realms, we’re back in the sky, sailing forward. Think of the phoenix renewed, aloft and beautiful.

The Moon entered Sagittarius to sextile Venus, then moved into a trine with Jupiter: flowing aspects to both of the ‘good luck’ planets.

We can catch good feelings today.

I’m thinking of Maya Angelou’s poem “On the Pulse of Morning.” The poem does not shy away from challenge, but says this:

Lift up your eyes upon
This day breaking for you.
Give birth again
To the dream.

The Moon makes two other intriguing aspects: quintiles to Mercury and Saturn.

This fifth harmonic aspect is considered ‘minor’ but points to talents we can access and develop. The sense of hope in this chart is tied to real things we can do, accomplishments we can access.

Angelou’s poem ends with these words:

Here, on the pulse of this new day
You may have the grace to look up and out
And into your sister’s eyes, and into
Your brother’s face, your country
And say simply
Very simply
With hope—
Good morning.
