Crescent Moon in Pisces: Only Connect

posted in: Crescent Moon, Pisces | 2

We’ve entered the Crescent Moon phase with a mid-Pisces Moon, lots of stuff in Pisces and lots of other stuff in Aquarius.

The Moon at 17º sits between the South Node at 09º and Saturn and Neptune at 27º and 29º. This Moon mediates between confusion (first decan) and dissolution (third decan).

In this middle of Pisces, we bridge between past and future, fear and hope, dreams and reality. It’s less about choosing one or the other, more about finding the paths between.

Perceptual and cognitive breakthroughs might emerge from dreams, or long ago memories, or a poem, or an image.

Meanwhile, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus hang out with Pluto, as Mars pushes through the final degree of Capricorn.

Here we confront the future and how foreign it feels. The weather can feel stark, with an upside of great clarity.

Let’s push this weather analogy a bit.

I’m in western North Carolina. Current weather predictions are “maybe this/maybe that” and “this will be like nothing we’ve seen” which is a good take on this lunar cycle.

Where I am, we might get freezing rain, or serious ice, or light to major snow. There are lots of models, but what happens on the ground in specific places is unknown.

Current astrology is like this. We know things are changing. We can see the change. But where will it end up? How will it affect me? What is my role?

Ask the personal planets who are sitting with Pluto.

Pluto is long term. Long long long term. He stress tests. He challenges to see if we’re thinking, if we’re prepared. Ultimately, he tests to see if we know who we are.

The Crescent phase is about planning. We have the light of the Moon back. What do our seedlings look like as they poke their first leaves out? What do we need? How do we get that?

Notice all the “we” language. Aquarius is a collective sign. We might be exiles in a new land, but that doesn’t mean “alone.” In fact, being in a new, strange place is exactly when we need allies.

As the planets move from the first decan of Aquarius into the second, connecting is the task at hand.

As Forester wrote in Howard’s End, “Only connect! … Live in fragments no longer.”
