With the Moon in early Sagittarius, we want nothing more than the open road ahead and a fast ride. Sagittarius loves speed. In this first decan, we don’t care much where we go, as long as we’re moving.

But the Crescent phase is about setting goals and this Moon is in a tough spot. Our best move ia to slow down, look around, and survey the terrain.
This won’t be easy, because the Moon is out of bounds. Outside the limits of the Sun, she isn’t good at listening to anyone.
This Sag Moon comes with extra Fire. She’s leaving a trine with Neptune in Aries, which means she’s caught in a fog of dreams, imagining places she’d love to be.
The Moon moves into a Grand Fire Trine with Mars in Leo and Saturn in Aries. Here’s the dilemma. Mars in Leo is ready to charge ahead, while Saturn drags his feet, wanting clarity before he commits. Mars rules Saturn, who’s not powerful in Aries, so, the “let’s go!” side has more power, even though it’s not the best idea.
This Moon also connects to all the outer planets, who (as they have been) connect to each other. So, more conflicting information than we can easily process. The Moon opposes Uranus, sextiles Pluto, and trines Neptune.
Did I mention Pluto is out of bounds, as well as the Moon? they both are. This chart has more energy that it needs.
Venus retrograde continues to square Pluto, signaling the depth of this underworld journey. In fact, Venus currently moves back into an exact Pluto square, which she will reach October 20.
The depths of this Venus retrograde hold important, if difficult, information. We need to resist the call of the Moon and Mars to ride off into the sunset, if we can. The pull toward speed will be strong, but the real gold is in the Venusian descent.
The Sun at the end of Libra is expansive, fair-minded, tolerant, and balanced. The Crescent Moon connection is a semisextile, not as strong as the Moon’s other aspects. Pay attention to the Sun, though. There’s guidance here.
A sextile from the Sun to Jupiter at the end of Leo brings in Jupiter’s beneficent, expansive vibe. These two are our best bet for slowing the Fire planets down to choose a good way forward.
In addition, Jupiter squares Mercury, in the middle of Scorpio. This Mercury is insightful and intuitive. We can work with Mercury, Jupiter, and the Sun, to stay focused on our goals and resist (as best we can) the siren calls of the Moon and Mars.
This is one of those times when the bright, fast road looks wonderfully exciting, but is not going to get us where we need to go. Stay on the path leading into the depths.
