Overnight Sunday, we enter the First Quarter with an exalted Moon in early Taurus.

We have a lovely, comforting Moon in the midst of an intense chart. What’s the message?
The First Quarter is a square between Sun and Moon, the firm nudge in the waxing lunar cycle that says, OK, do something.
This Taurus Moon squares the Sun in Aquarius, but not only the Sun. There is an entire phalanx in Aquarius right now, clustered around Pluto and including Venus, Mercury, and Mars.
Some Moons might feel threatened by this. Not this Moon. This Moon loves to be cozy but has a quiet strength the sharp minds of Aquarian certainty cannot break. This is a Moon who knows in her bones. Who lives within cycles of water, air, soil, plants, animals, history, and says, I’m here for it.
This Moon also trines the South Node in Virgo and North Node in Pisces, affirming and participating in large cycles of change and renewal.
But all that Aquarius! Neptune moves into Aries on Monday! Mars conjuncts Pluto exactly on Tuesday!
This Moon says, keep your feet on the ground. Make soup. Share warmth. Take care of the person next to you.
This Moon says, “simple things” are not simple, nor are they trivial. Connection, caring, sharing water, food, shelter, are not silly. These things are life. This is how living works.
Aquarius is disruption and exile, yet resistance is also disruption. Refusing to live inside a false reality is exile. Aquarius is personal awakening and collective action in service to justice. Aquarius says, Nope, not doing that.
So, if that wall of Aquarius feels like rigid control and fanaticism, remember it’s also clear principles turned into action. It’s knowing what we stand for and standing together.
If all that Aquarius shows up as a massive ice storm, it’s also organized shelters, stacks of blankets, state of emergency declarations, rows of power company bucket trucks already positioned in mall parking lots, and neighbors checking on neighbors.
Aquarius is tens and tens of thousands of people organized worldwide to say no to tyranny, state violence, and cruelty aimed at the innocent.
The exalted Taurus Moon says, let’s do this together. Cooperatively. We will grow roots deep enough to withstand any frost.
Also, soup. Have some soup. And bread.
