Waning Trine Moon in Cancer: Vulnerable

posted in: Cancer, Waning Trine | 0

Tonight we reach the trine between Sun and Moon that happens within the Disseminating phase.

Trines are flowing aspects, connecting planets who share an element and so find communication easy.

They speak the same language. Trines are considered fortunate and supportive.

Of course, what feels fortunate depends on the experience itself and more importantly how we respond to it.

Tonight’s trine connects the Scorpio Sun with a Cancerian Moon. This seems likely to facilitate feelings of vulnerability and sadness. There is, truly, value here. But in the moment it might not feel wonderful.

The Sun in Scorpio has an acute awareness of what is hidden, difficult, shadowy, taboo, and threatening. These are parts of our lives that challenge us but also offer rich gifts.

The Moon in Cancer focuses on family, including all those who feel like family, with a deep desire to keep everyone safe. This is a caring Moon who feels deeply but prefers not to share openly.

Put these two together and we access how we feel about loss. It’s part of life, sure, but do we need to talk about this today? Well, yes, yes, we do. We at least are called to feel it and name it.

The Moon applies to square Chiron the wounded healer. Things could feel a bit sharp.

Remember that Chiron seeks to facilitate healing, not cause further wounding. As with the Scorpio–Cancer trine, though, what we know is healthy might not feel good in the moment.

This trine will pass quickly. It will be easy to ignore. Perhaps not focusing on whatever comes up will be best for you. Just know there is an opportunity to access emotions we don’t usually choose to feel.

We can learn something and where we can learn, healing becomes possible.
