Last Quarter Moon in Scorpio: Deep Focus

This Last Quarter features a Moon in late Scorpio ready to transmute difficult, challenging material to prepare us for renewal.

As we saw in the last phase, this Moon is on her own, holding focus for a sweep of planets from early Aquarius through Cancer.

The Disseminating Libra Moon wanted to bring forward many voices. This Last Quarter Moon wants to draw out toxicity so it can be transformed.

Scorpio is known for its incisive depth that combines piercing insight with a vast understanding. There’s not much that can shock Scorpio.

The square from Moon to Sun is the key aspect of the Last Quarter.

This Sun in late Aquarius is disillusioned. He has not found the realizations and new directions he hoped for. Instead, the Sun feels a deep disappointment in the state of the world.

I think we can relate.

The square from the Moon offers transformative healing. Let me pierce through, the Moon says, and drain away the poison. Only then can you find the new world you seek.

But this feels risky. Can we trust this Moon? Do we really believe transformation, a new world, is possible?

The Sun is not alone in being disillusioned. Venus, also at the end of Aquarius, is deeply disappointed. Mars in mid Aquarius is ready to fight, without being willing to fight fair. Pluto, well. Will Pluto point us to something solid? Or lead us to what is broken, to transmute that first?

The Moon opposes Uranus at the end of Taurus. This conversation is also about transformation.

At the end of Taurus, we face physical death and decay. The world is not eternal, but cyclical. We must to live within the cycles of the Earth, which renew only after the previous cycle has ended.

This Moon says, that’s OK. In fact, it’s required. Trust in the renewal. Let go of what is ending.

The Moon separates from a trine to Jupiter, carrying with her the blessings of an exalted benefic in her own sign. She moves into a trine with Saturn at the very end of Pisces: another recognition of endings and dissolution.

This Last Quarter may feel dark, but it is neither bleak nor hopeless.

The Scorpio Moon challenges us to acknowledge what can no longer survive, and let it go. Not in despair of a final ending, but trusting that the ancient pattern will once again bring transformation and renewal.

What do we need to let go? Figuring this out is the task.
