Gibbous Moon in Virgo: Gathering the Threads

posted in: Gibbous Moon, Virgo | 0

Overnight, we slip into the Gibbous Moon phase. This square-and-a-half between the Sun and Moon points to one more challenge.

We’ve worked on building skills with the First Quarter Moon. We think we’re ready for the Full Moon illumination. And then–oops–something comes up.

This Gibbous challenge may not be as much about what we do, as about how we do it.

Jupiter and Neptune remain very closely conjunct. We float among beautiful clouds of cosmic experience. We’re in the moment, open to All That Is. With this much magic around, we might want to let go and be carried along in the mystical tides.

The Virgo Moon wants us to come back to Earth, get grounded, and make a plan.

This isn’t meant to be boring. Instead, the Moon in Virgo wants us to gather up what we’re perceiving and processing. She sees this as valuable. A life-changing experience. She knows that unless we integrate it into our daily lives, it can drift away and be lost.

The Moon opposes Venus in Pisces. There’s a clear understanding of how important this Piscean time is. Creative inspiration abounds. New understandings of who we are and how we fit into this world come forward.

The Moon is leaving a trine to Mercury in Taurus and moving to trine Uranus. First, we encounter a strong message to calm down, go slow, and find ways to root what we’re learning in the soil of our lives. Next we connect with the knowledge that the world is changing. This makes the need for slow, careful, calm attention more important.

Imagine all the Jupiter-Neptune experiences as tangled threads. The colors are gorgeous, changing perceptions and sparking ideas. But if we want to create something useful as well as beautiful, something that will last, we need to untangle the threads, gather them together, and see what we can weave with all these new colors.

This is our Gibbous Moon challenge.
