Gibbous Moon in Scorpio: Oracle

Tomorrow’s Gibbous Moon is the place where we meet one more obstacle, just when we thought we were almost at the goal.

The Moon in late Scorpio, the 3rd decan, is intensely psychic, drinking of deep waters which might be venomous––at least to the uninitiated.

And so the challenger we meet is the Oracle, the woman who sat at Delphi where vapors wafted from a cave below, smoke that was toxic but also brought visions.

This Moon sits alone, connecting to much in the chart. The sequiquadrate to the Sun that defines this phase also includes Mercury, just past their cazimi and still combust, as well as Vesta, tender of the hearth.

The sesquiquadrate is only one part of a Thor’s Hammer, with Chiron on the other side of the base, squaring the Sun, Mercury, and Vesta.

What prophecies does Mercury hold? How do Chiron’s wounds connect to the nurture offered by the Cancerian group? Sometimes we are held too tightly by the past and need to break free at any cost. Can the Moon read these secrets?

Sextiles to Jupiter, Pluto, Pallas, and Saturn bring the holders of powers under the Moon’s influence as well. We know there are more secrets here, possibly even darker than the ones already revealed.

The Moon trines Neptune, who also sextiles the Cap group. Centers of power may think they can deceive all of the people all of the time, but this Moon will have none of it. The truth will out. Some of it, anyway.

At this Gibbous Moon, heading into the last of the Cancer–Capricorn eclipses, we may find oracular wisdom showing up in our lives as well. And yes, this can definitely be a challenge.

The 3rd decan of Scorpio relates to unfulfilled desires and how we manage them. Are we consumed by longing? Do we reach out to grab whatever we can?

Or can we look with courage and honesty at what’s been going on in our lives? Where can we find satisfaction? Where do we need to let someone or something go?

Being able to stay with any discomfort that arises, and listening to the messages that come to us, are key to moving forward.
