Crescent Moon in Virgo: Humble

posted in: Crescent Moon, Virgo | 0

Did you know the root of the word ‘humility’ leads to ‘humus’? Or that the word ‘human’ comes from the same root, a very ancient Indo-European word meaning ‘earth’ or ‘earthing’?

Today’s Virgo Moon reminds us we are of the earth, from the earth. It’s good to know this. Solid. Reliable. Humble.

The Moon is 45° away from the Leo Sun. We’re entering the Crescent phase, time to make a plan and take action toward our goals. Being in Virgo, this Moon says, small steps. Careful work. Attention to detail. Caring enough to get it right.

The context is chaotic and potentially triggering. Today, the Mars–Uranus–North Node conjunctions are exact. Mars reaches the North Node 30 minutes after the Crescent Moon, and Uranus about 6 hours later. It’s in force all day. We can feel it now.

The Moon aspects these big powers. Separating from a trine with Mars–Uranus–North Node, applying to trine Pluto, opposite Neptune, this Moon needs a grounded humility to hold this space.

A Kite pattern (a Grand Trine with a sextile on top) places the Moon, our Moon, the body closest to us, at the base.

We tend to think going low is a bad thing. It implies being underhanded, self serving, and mean spirited. Sometimes, though, going low is exactly the right move. We are earthlings, after all, and sometimes we need to go to ground.

When fierce winds of change tear at us, we hunker down. Get out of the way. Wait for the storm to pass.

Then we peek out. See what needs to be done. Do that.

The Crescent Moon asks us to consider what skills, attitudes, and equipment we need to weather great change.

What’s in your Virgo tool kit? Check supplies. Stock up. Keep your head down. Help where you can. Stay humble.
