Balsamic Moon in Gemini: Crystal Clear

Tomorrow we shift into the Balsamic phase, the time of letting go. We’re preparing for the New Moon in Leo.

Balsamic Moons are often quiet, excellent for contemplation and resolution. This time around, a late Gemini Moon trines Jupiter, just returned to late Aquarius. This sound more like a party than mindful practice.

If we peek into the third decans of Gemini and Aquarius, though, a more somber image emerges.

The final decan of Gemini is the place where dualities must be decided. While we can veer between two poles for a long while, eventually a choice is made. Yes. No. Stay. Go. Do. Not do.

The final decan of Aquarius is ready to leave it all behind. It’s been so difficult to balance everything and it never seems to come right somehow. Maybe it’s time to leave ordinary reality behind and seek higher ground.

The Sun and Mercury in Leo hold on to a waning opposition to Saturn while applying to square Uranus. There’s also a trine to Chiron. We’re doing our best to figure out what’s happening but it seems to change before we can grasp it.

And yet, a positive connection between the Gemini Moon and Aquarian Jupiter speaks to the myriad possibilities that appeared at the waning sextile. No matter how daunting the challenge, this Moon–Jupiter trine blooms with hope.

If we invite Jupiter to wear the philosopher’s hat, we can access depth and wisdom. The Gemini Moon is the eternal student, ready to absorb new ideas and ancient verities.

The Moon is ruled by Mercury, sitting with the Sun. Mercury remains invisible–fitting at this darkening Moon time–and bears illumination from the throne of the Sun.

In the midst of confusion and rapid change, we’re offered clarity. Out of many possibilities, only a few stand out. That’s all we need.

Choices must be made. In the next few days, we’ll see clearly and choose.
