Balsamic Moon in Aries: On the Edge

posted in: Aries, Balsamic Moon | 0

On Thursday, May 30, we reach the Balsamic Moon, the semi square between Moon and Sun that marks the last lunar phase. In this phase, we let go. We are composting, preparing the ground for the New Moon to come.

This Aries Moon sits with Eris, the chaos goddess who highlights our awareness of the plight of the world. Our tool for this Balsamic phase might well be a scythe.

We feel a pressing need to act. What needs to be cut away to stop our headlong rush to disaster? What excess calls to be excised?

This Moon, conjunct Eris and semisquare the Gemini Sun, also squares Pluto and trines Jupiter. Our need to act takes on philosophical depth. The urgency comes in part from the dark looming over our shoulder. Is that smoke? Is something on fire?

The challenge is, our path forward is unclear. Mercury is in a T-square, opposing Jupiter and squaring Neptune. Neptune, meanwhile, sextiles Venus and the South Node, and trines the North Node.

The way that looks easy and beautiful might be full of rocks and thorns. The way that feels most perilous could be the only way through. How can we tell the difference?

At this Balsamic Moon, use the Aries and Eris vibe to make tough decisions while resisting rash action.

Those things we’ve known for some time are ready to go: Let them go. For the rest, consult guidance. Stay close to the edge without falling in. When the fog clears, we’ll know the way.
