Today we shift from the Disseminating phase into the Last Quarter, the last chance to make good on our goals, plans, and illuminations for this lunar cycle.

We may be tempted to gather up whatever we’ve managed to do, however messy and incomplete, and call it done. But this is a Virgo Moon.
Late Virgo, to be precise. The Moon has entered the last decan, the place we realize nothing in this world lasts forever. In the face of that, do we plan well and take careful steps? Or do we burn it all down in one glorious celebration?
You might not think it, but Virgo can do either one.
This Moon separates from the South Node also in Virgo. This is a place of completion, putting away what is out of season, letting go what we no longer need.
Yet Virgo is careful and dislikes mess. Letting go of something in one form might mean recreating it in another.
This Moon squares the Sun in the last decan of Sagittarius. The end of a journey is near. The Sun is tired but glowing from the adventure. The Moon gathers up scraps––of food for a stew, of bits and pieces to be melded together, of information to create a new plan or maybe a poem.
The Moon separates from a square to Venus, still deep in her quest, and applies to Mars, reaching the end of his, ahead of the Sun.
Meanwhile, Venus squares the Nodes. Yes, she is at the bendings, facing into the South Node the Moon has just left. She joins the Moon in looking for creative ways to complete a needed task.
This Moon also applies to oppose Saturn and Neptune in late Pisces, creating a T-square that includes the Sun, and wraps in Venus and Mars as well. We seek the balance between dreams and action, what to keep and what to let go, what to trust in and what to ask sharp questions about.
Mercury, who rules this Moon, is at the very end of Scorpio, still in his retrograde review, and definitely has questions.
Answers may not emerge right away.
Traditional quilts are essential Virgo Moon projects. Women save scraps of clothing, bedding, curtains, and piece them into wonderful designs that became warmth and comfort in new forms.
Paintings and drawings are made of individual strokes, large or small, bold or careful, bright or muted.
Everything we create emerges from small actions.
In a time when big things are happening, it’s good to remember big actions are built from small steps. Virgo reminds us attention matters, specifics matter, how patterns emerge matters.
The whole is larger than the sum of its parts, yet each part is essential to what the whole becomes.

So good! I am the Virgo who really appreciates and understands this.
