Gibbous Moon: Fast or Slow?

Today we enter the Gibbous phase with the Moon in late Aries, the Final Countdown before the Full Moon.

This Full Moon will be the last Supermoon of the year. It brings a complex vibe, with the Gibbous Moon as preview. The key question is: Do we go fast or slow?

The Gibbous aspect is a sesquiquadrate, a square and a half. It’s edgy and out of sorts. Coming from a late Aries Moon to a mid-way Sagittarian Sun, it adds Fire to Fire.

Clearly, the Gibbous Moon wants speed.

The fiery energy is boosted by Venus (newly arrived) and Mars also in Sagittarius.

Plus, the Aries Moon is conjunct asteroids Eris and Chiron.

Eris is edgy and wants action to address the world’s needs. Chiron, though. Chiron is about personal healing. Are we afraid of being direct and going for we want? Are we slow because we’re afraid? Or are we using a strong personality and quick action to short circuit reflection?

The Grand Trine in Water remains strong. Here, Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, all retrograde, are completed by Mercury in Scorpio.

Mercury is now direct, re-emerging from a descent journey, still in the watery depths but heading for the surface. What are we processing? Going too fast may short circuit our learning. We can’t absorb new insights if we’re swimming as fast as we can.

Fast or slow, which is the right choice?

It won’t be the same for everyone. Our birth charts + life experience create an orientation. Our default might be quick thought, quick action. Or we may be slower, more contemplative. Both have value.

How this Gibbous Moon links to our birth chart will nudge (or push) us one way or another. But the choice is ours. Which feels right for you?

Are you humming, “Never Make a Move Too Soon” or “Life in the Fast Lane”?
