Gibbous Moon in Aquarius: Precarious

posted in: Aquarius, Gibbous Moon | 0

This Gibbous chart is complicated. The aspects are all over. There’s no clear pattern.

We’re nearing the Full Moon, a moment of illumination, but have we met our goals? Done what we set out to do?

The angle between the Sun and Moon at this phase is 135º – a square and a half, an edgy, awkward connection. That’s what we’re feeling. Like, it’s not a disaster, but it doesn’t feel OK, either.

The Moon at the end of Aquarius wants to help, but doesn’t have an agenda beyond what feels right for the situation. In others words, this Moon doesn’t need to be right, if a solid way forward can be found.

The Moon trines Mercury at the end of Libra, and sextiles the Chiron–Eris conjunction at the end of Aries. Mercury opposes Chiron and Eris.

Chiron the wounded healer, is the asteroid holding space for our personal healing journey. Eris, the chaos goddess, stands up for the needs of the world. Together, they signal how concerned we are about the state of the world.

Mercury in Libra genuinely wants to find a workable solution–or more likely, sets of solutions–but it isn’t easy.

The Moon shows up to hold space, to say, yes, this is hard, and it’s also worth facing into.

Then there’s Jupiter, exalted in Cancer, the Moon’s sign. He’s here to help, squaring the Chiron–Eris conjunction and Mercury.

Jupiter shines through the clouds, opens up new perspectives, offers support. This isn’t an instant solution, but the help is genuine.

So at this Gibbous Moon, we see and feel the difficulties of our situation. Whether it’s a personal challenge or facing into the state of the world, it’s real.

The key thing is, we have support. We have the clear-eyed, fair-minded insights of the Aquarian Moon. And we have the caring warmth of an exalted Jupiter.

If we stay the course, we’ll get through.
