Monday, we enter the First Quarter phase with a no-nonsense Capricorn Moon.

At this point in the waxing cycle, it’s time to get stuff done. In early Capricorn, the Moon has boots on the ground and is ready to move.
Capricorn, the cardinal Earth sign ruled by Saturn, is tough minded, determined, and focused.
The First Quarter has the Moon squaring the Sun in early Libra. This Sun is in favor of action, but want things to run smoothly and is in favor of having a good plan with nothing left out.
These two together recognize that no plan survives first contact, but we still need plans.
This Sun-Moon square is actually a T-square, though, with the Sun opposing the asteroid Ceres in early Aries. Neptune and Saturn are still nearby, both retrograde, ready to fog things up a bit.
Ceres, the Roman name of the goddess Demeter, combines a genuine love of the Earth, of green and growing things, and of her daughter with a fierce determination to protect what she loves. This fierceness is emphasized in Aries.
Let’s add Mars and Venus to this conversation, since the Moon is separating from a sextile to Mars in Scorpio and applying to a trine with Venus in Virgo.
I imagine the conversation like this:
Moon in Capricorn: OK, it’s time. Where’s the plan?
Ceres in Aries: We don’t have time to plan! We need to act!
Sun in Libra: We don’t have time not to plan. Let’s talk this through.
Mars in Scorpio: I’ve got your back: Listen to this deep background.
Venus in Virgo: I took detailed notes. Here’s the ultimate plan. Texts everyone the plan.
Seriously, though (Saturn does rule this Moon), this First Quarter chart brings the focus and commitment to get something done.
Before you dive in, take the time to plan the work. Then work the plan.
