The Moon gains light in the sky. We begin to sense where this lunar cycle can take us. We’re scoping out the terrain.

The Moon joins Mars and the South Node in Virgo. She knows step one is to clear away whatever we can let go of. Virgo is humble, longs to be helpful, but is not sentimental. She knows there’s no point in hanging on.
Austin Coppock’s title for this decan is “The Sarcophagus.” He begins by saying, “The last decan of Virgo shows the fate of all matter–to be brought to perfection and then crumble to dust.”
The Tarot card for this decan is the Ten of Pentacles, which represents wealth, but also signals the end of a cycle.
What does it mean to be at an “ending” as we begin a new lunar cycle?
Think of this Virgo Moon as tidying up. She knows we’re in times of Big Change. As we move into this new, unknown era, let’s not trip over old stuff. Let’s clear the decks.
There’s plenty of new ideas flooding in. Venus in late Gemini still squares the Nodes. Yet at the end of Gemini, we’re in a place of winnowing. Lots of ideas are in play, but it’s time to pruning. Which ideas are most viable? Which are worth pursuing? This is what happens with the Crescent Moon.
The Sun still aspects the change agents Pluto, Uranus, and Saturn–Neptune as Mercury draws near for their cazimi on July 31. This moment of illumination will happen within the Crescent phase.
Also happening in the next few days: Chiron stations retrograde, bringing a new level of self reflection to our healing journey, and Venus enters Cancer. Venus’ sign change brings the two benefics together in the Moon’s sign of nurturance.
What goals and plans will you craft for this lunar journey?
