Gibbous Moon in Taurus: Surprise!

With the Gibbous Moon (last phase before the Full) we face a final obstacle before illumination.

In Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Cycle, this is a gatekeeper who looks like an adversary but is really a guardian making sure we’re ready for what comes next.

This adversary shows up out of the blue. We thought we were in the castle, but there’s this bridge here.

The unexpected challenge of tonight’s Gibbous Moon is––something unexpected.

The Moon in late Taurus wants to rest. It’s the end of 2025 and she’s tired. She’s got her cozy read, her warm beverage, her fuzzy blanket, and then something weird happens. So not on the agenda.

The Moon is a square and a half from the Sun, an awkward, edgy angle. This Moon is also a square and a half from Venus and Mars, very close to the Sun.

All three (Sun, Venus, Mars) are in sturdy, focused Capricorn.

So the Moon says, “Hey! Sun! What are y’all doing? I want rest, quiet, cozy book and things just went sideways!”

The Cap group raises an eyebrow. “Us?? Look who you’re hanging with, girl. This one’s on you.”

The Moon sighs. Yes, she is conjunct Uranus. All bets are off.

These next few days leading into the Full Moon, watch for surprises. Something can be unexpected but not random. Be meaningful, and tell us something we need to know.

Also, we can choose the unexpected to invite in the Uranus message. Go ahead, shake that pine bough. How much snow could it hold, after all?
