Gibbous Moon in Capricorn: Two Steps Back

August began with the Full Moon in Aquarius, a Supermoon marked with signs of change.

As we approach the end of August with another larger Supermoon, we wonder how much has really been accomplished.

In world events or our personal lives, things have been shifting. Yet it doesn’t feel like progress, exactly, does it? I mean, are things better? Maybe. Maybe not. It’s tough to tell.

The uncertainty is the challenge of this Gibbous Moon in Capricorn. Capricorn loves a sense of accomplishment, the feeling of a job well underway and heading to completion. Right now, we can’t quite see where we are.

There’s a Grand Trine in this Gibbous chart linking the Moon with Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus, and Mercury in Virgo. This should let us get things done easily and quickly. Except, Mercury is retrograde, Uranus is stationing and will turn retrograde on Friday, and Jupiter stations retrograde September 4.

In addition, Venus remains retrograde in Leo, and Pluto, Saturn, and Neptune are retrograde as well.

Just when we thought we were making headway, the cosmos signals that we need to slow down. Somewhere along the way, we missed a step. Or there’s something we still need to work through before we can fully let it go. Or some decision we’ve made isn’t the right one and we need to reconsider.

Whatever it is, it’s best to take a breath, figure out what isn’t quite right or quite ready, and fix it.

It will feel like two steps back, but sometimes it’s the only way forward.
