Gibbous Moon in Aquarius: Exile

posted in: Aquarius, Gibbous Moon | 0

This morning before dawn (EDT) we entered the Gibbous phase with the Moon at the end of Aquarius.

This phase opens with a sesquiquadrate between the Sun and Moon, an awkward square-and-a-half. It’s edgy. We think we have everything sorted out. We learned. We prepared. But now––something isn’t right.

Aquarius is intense, eccentric, and outside the box while also embracing strong principles. Now at the end of this sign, we feel the isolation of choosing our own path.

The Moon’s been on a tricky journey, one the Sun will soon follow.

The Mars–Saturn trine in echoes the new/old, change/tradition dynamic we’re experiencing with the Saturn–Uranus square. We’ve done our best to map the best path, connect the dots. Today we ask, has is worked? Was it worth it?

The Moon is separating from a trine to Mars, past all that. The end of Aquarius is a place of exile. Over the next days, we may feel alone.

We may feel shut out. Our best wasn’t good enough. We feel rejected, abandoned.

Or we might choose to leave. It wasn’t working. It wasn’t the right thing for us. Values and goals were not a match.

Either way, it’s uncomfortable.

Today’s Moon is really out of bounds as well, outside the Sun’s influence. This opens the door to radical ideas but can also skew our perceptions.

If you feel a sense of isolation today, check in. Is this your choice? The best alternative in a bad situation? Or are you closing a door you don’t need to?

Both, of course, could be true.

We’re heading toward the Full Moon in Aries, which will highlight the tension between self and other. In Aries, we’re pioneers, embracing our own paths. In Libra, we want and need connection. Again, both are true.

Use these days to consider: Where do I feel alone? Where do I feel shut out or excluded? Where am I choosing to leave something that no longer fits?

There’s a lot of Air in the Gibbous Moon chart, and very little Water. It will be easier to think about all this than feel it. Do consider whether your ideas and perceptions are accurate. Also make room for how it feels.
