Gibbous Moon in Aquarius: A Cool Blue Expanse

posted in: Aquarius, Gibbous Moon | 0

Overnight, we slip into the Gibbous phase with a Moon in mid Aquarius. The second decan of Aquarius is a place of building bridges, which is exactly what this Moon can do.

In the Gibbous phase, we face a challenge. With the Moon in cerebral, far-sighted Aquarius, we have the chance to make sense of complex patterns before we reach the fire of the Aries Full Moon.

Venus separates from her square to Jupiter. The Moon brings them back together for one more discussion as Uranus joins the mix.

Venus’ squares to Jupiter and Uranus are part of the completion phase of her retrograde journey in Leo. These are the third and final squares before Venus leaves her post retrograde shadow on October 3.

The Moon at 17º51’ Aquarius opposes Venus at 20º14’ Leo and squares Jupiter at 14º48’ Taurus and also Uranus at 22º45’ Taurus. We have a complex and powerful T-square.

What have we learned during this hot girl, goddess descent journey retrograde? What shakeups in relationships, finances, and creativity are we still sorting out? Things are still jumbled. The cool, calm, collected Aquarius Moon can help. What are we going to do with what we’ve learned? What’s the vision? What’s the plan?

The Moon also trines Mars at 19º18’ Libra. This Mars will rule the coming Full Moon. This Mars is more than a bit frustrated in Libra. And this Mars is in a complicated situation. Notice that the Moon also trines the South Node, and sextiles the North Node and Chiron, both in Aries.

We have a Mars who wants to get stuff done and feels constrained to make nice, be diplomatic, and consider the other guy. The Mars–Chiron opposition is pushing buttons about the difference between what we want and how guilty we feel going after it.

Chiron in Aries lights up where we feel criticized, shamed, or ignored when our desires feel too much. When is it ok to ask for what I want? Whose permission am I waiting for, anyway? It can be awkward.

When it comes to topics and triggers, the Mars–Chiron opposition aligned with the Nodes has a lot of overlap with the Venus retrograde in Leo.

Do we actually know what we want? How do we feel about going for it? What happens if our desires don’t fit what we believe is right, or proper?

The Moon can help us gain a little distance from our emotions. This is chance to get centered and figure out what our bottom line is. What do we truly desire? What is not negotiable?

The Full Moon will be full power, open throttle. Take these days of the Gibbous Moon to connect with a wide, calm sky. Think clearly. Consider the long term.

You are the sky. Everything else – it’s just the weather.
