Late Monday, we slip into the First Quarter phase with the Moon in mid Virgo, and the Sun and Mercury together in mid Gemini.

These three make a great team. Yes, a square is considered a challenging aspect, but if we live only with agreement, we neither refine our skills nor get much done. The middle decan of these two signs, both ruled by Mercury, are places to come to grips with problems and craft good solutions.
It’s not that the challenges we face are magically over, but we’re finally in a place where we feel we can sort them out.
Everything won’t be crystal clear overnight. Mercury is only 5º away from the Sun, and so remains combust.
Yet, distance is happening. We may get a glimmer of what Mercury learned in their illumination a few days ago.
And we can still engage with the process. Whatever challenges we face, we know more than we did before. We’ve got data and possibly new ideas.
One of the strengths of Virgo is the ability to learn by doing, or maybe we could say, learn while doing.
Virgo is Mercury’s Earth sign, the hands-on version of Gemini’s bright ideas. Getting our hands dirty, checking under the hood, taking things apart––these are all metaphors for coming to grips with a problem in a very Virgo way.
The issues, big and small, are still there. This is not a place for magical thinking, but of mucking in and seeing what happens.
Pluto sextiles Saturn and Neptune at the beginning of Aries. This combination makes sure we don’t charge into battle without have an escape route. Nor are we allowed to project a big image without checking for its shadow.
All three, Pluto, Saturn, and Neptune, create out-of-sign trines and sextiles to Uranus at the very end of Taurus. They’re anticipating the Next Big Change for 2025: Uranus’ entry into Gemini on July 7, which is bound to be interesting.
This is an opportune moment. Some behind-the-scenes connections bring help. The Moon is tightly parallel Venus. The Sun and Mercury are tightly parallel Jupiter. “Parallel” is a latitude-based aspect that’s like a conjunction: Venus and Jupiter show up with extra luck, optimism, and creativity.
These days of the First Quarter are excellent for getting organized, making plans, and diving into the process of sorting things out.
