The First Quarter Moon invites us to learn new skills or improve skills we have. This Virgo Moon, careful and diligent, stands ready to do her best.

At the same time, the Moon feels pressured. A Sun-Uranus conjunction squares the Moon and the Nodes from the blooming, buzzing excitement of Gemini. Uranus is conjunction the Sun, his annual cazimi, a renewal. Uranus in Gemini brings unexpected change, which the Sun highlights.

The Moon with the South Node reminds us we may need to know when to let go. She might struggle to keep her footing in this complex T-square, yet she has support she can count on.

The Moon and South Node trine Mars in early Taurus. Mars calms down in this Earth sign, offering the Moon a steady partnership to get work done.

Venus in Cancer sextiles Mars and the Moon. Venus rules the first decan of Cancer, where she is deeply caring. She wishes to connect, and links to Mars and the Moon give her a way to do this. She is out of bounds, though, so her choices will be uniquely her own.

There’s a lot going on in this First Quarter chart, and in the world. We feel how much work needs to be done, It feels like a lot. The Sun and Uranus bring challenge. Mars and Venus offer support.

The Moon and South Node also sit at the apex of a yod, an awkward pattern like a tall triangle, formed by two quincunxes and a sextile across the bottom.

The Moon and South Node quincunx Pluto and Neptune, who sextile each other. This connects the Moon to the other outer planets, Neptune and Pluto, who usher us into the future.

The solution to a yod is opposite the apex. In this case, it’s the North Node in Pisces, place of what we long for. Pisces, opposite Virgo, shows the way. We find the path through this complex maze by following our dreams–and working to make them real.
