First Quarter Moon in Aquarius: A Beacon

As the Sun and Moon square each other, marking the First Quarter phase, we’re in the midst of the Mars–Mercury–Saturn–Uranus rumpus.

Yesterday we made it through the Mercury and Mars squares to Saturn, perhaps the most frustrating part. In a few more days, they will both oppose Uranus. Things are in flux. There’s a feeling in the air that anything could happen and it wouldn’t surprise us.

Today, the First Quarter Moon in Aquarius offers a beacon. The Moon moves to conjunct Jupiter and both are thrilled at the prospect. Look for the silver lining, they say. Find the bright crystal of truth lost (temporarily) inside all the noise. See the good in someone and amplify it.

Today in the U.S. it’s Veteran’s Day. We remember the sacrifices others have made to keep hope alive, to not allow other bright lights to go out.

Jupiter and the Moon plan for a principled, organized, just, and inclusive future. They’re also in favor of happiness, but realize core values have to be central to any sustainable plan.

The square from the Sun is a firm reminder not to forget what is hidden, lost, forbidden. denied, and buried. Aquarius can get up so high that shadows seem to disappear. But their power is strong. We need to balance the pull of bright and of dark in ourselves and our world.

Today, the Moon and Jupiter light beacons that shine all the way down.

Our task is before. The First Quarter Moon is about taking action. What do you need to do now? What first step can you take to shine your light more brightly?
