Tonight we enter the Balsamic phase. The Moon, a narrow curve in the sky, will soon disappear, to reappear after the New Moon.

This is a time of preparation. Letting go. What is finished we can set aside? What is blocking, or slowing, our path?
This chart is very much like the Solstice chart, tThe Sun–Moon conjunction even closer than it was.
It’s Jupiter’s annual meeting with the Sun, when Jupiter receives a boost to his already enlightened state. In fact, the exact conjunction, the cazimi, arrives less than 12 hours after the Balsamic phase begins.
One of our Balsamic tasks, then, is to pay attention. Jupiter is philosophy, liberality, expansion, generosity. He also has the power to make something so large we can’t miss it.
We might feel where we need more care–or can offer more care to others. Where we feel a lack, or can realize how abundant our life truly is. Whatever draws our attention in the next few days is where Jupiter and the Sun want us to look.
Venus and the Moon are conjunct in mid Taurus, just one degree past the point of Beltane, the springtime celebration of abundance and life. Both Venus and the Moon are strong here.
This waning Moon, though is strong enough to let go. Do desires, or ideas, or just stuff get in the way of what we truly want and need? This is the time to express gratitude for what we have and no longer need, and let it go.
Sun–Jupiter still squares Saturn–Neptune, but the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter are the strongest planets in this chart, so, overall, I’m anticipating a time for gentle releasing. It’s a good time for self care that focusing on clearing, cleansing, and letting go.
