Balsamic Moon in Taurus: Dig Deep

posted in: Balsamic Moon, Taurus | 0

Today we enter the Balsamic phase, last before a New Moon. We wrap up, let go as the Moon loses her light. This time, we enter with this Moon, exalted in early Taurus.

This Moon has resources at her fingertips. We can pick them up and do the work. But do we need to do whatever it is today? It’s such a lovely day. …Maybe a picnic? Relax?

The work that calls us is real and deep, which makes looking away easier. This Moon squares Pluto, fixed Earth to fixed Air. Pluto won’t let us look away from shadows in ourselves or in our world.

The aspect from Moon to Sun at the Balsamic phase is 45º, awkward and a bit tense. Something’s not quite right. It’s going to bug us until we figure it out.

The Sun at the end of Gemini has to make a choice. Gemini opens our minds to so many possibilities at once, it feels like anything is possible. All doors are open. Windows too. But saying anything is possible doesn’t mean everything is possible. To make something real, we need to choose. We need to commit.

We’re at the threshold of other changes. Venus and Jupiter are still conjunct, but Venus will soon shift into Leo where she will oppose Pluto, trine Neptune, and sextile Uranus. Can we bring the grace and good vibes of the conjunction into Venus’ meeting with the big three outer planets who signal the world’s changes?

Venus at the end of Cancer squares Chiron at the end of Aries. What personal healing work are we called to do, with the help of this caring Venus still linked to Jupiter?

Balsamic times feel like we’re wrapping up, yet it seems we need to dig deep first. This is an opportunity to face something difficult with support: an exalted Moon, and Venus and Jupiter still having out together.

Digging into whatever is grabbing our attention might be challenging but will prepare us for the new lunar cycle, and whatever else, that lies ahead. We get to choose. I choose the deep work.
