At this Last Quarter with the Moon in early Leo, there might be something we need to do, or a stand to take. We must make clear who we are and what we’re here for.

A square from the Moon to the Sun defines this phase. The Sun in early Scorpio wants what it wants. This Sun shines with a fierceness that can burn, but with cold rather than heat. The fire of the Leo Moon meets the ice of the Scorpio Sun. Which is stronger?
The Moon forms a tight trine to Saturn in Aries, a Saturn demanding sacrifice to reach a worthy goal. Aries wants to be the best and the first. To get there, requires a commitment that may cost more than we bargained for.
The theme of letting go remains strong. Notice the Leo stellium that begins with the Moon and includes Mars, Jupiter, and the South Node. Jupiter’s power focuses on the good, but can overcommit in his determination to reach the goal. Mars is strong, but competitive and possibly petulant. Keep in mind that Mars rules the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, and Neptune in this chart.
The T-square that tied the Sun and Moon to Pluto is waning but still in force. The question here is, have we listened? Have we learned?
Venus opposes Eris and Chiron in her continuing retrograde. Perhaps her descent journey has reached the point where we realize the cost of what we’re learning.
Mercury retrograde reaches their cazimi during this phase, on November 4. Deep communication happens.
This set of delineations might sound grim, yet with this much Fire in the chart, including the Moon, we’re still up, still moving, still determined, even when the going is rough. The presence of the South Node in Leo reminds us we’re meant to be putting some stuff down. We’re meant to let go.
This is not a defeated release, but a focused one. With the Venus and the Mercury retrogrades, we’re learning what can be let go. What we’re done with. What we don’t need. This can release the energy we need to move forward.
We ask questions based on how this Last Quarter chart interacts with our birth chart. That’s a place to start. Don’t forget, though, to ask the Leo questions: How have I presented myself in ways that no longer work? What insignia or emblems do I treasure that no longer speak to who I am? What cloaks or crowns am I wearing that only weigh me down?
One we’ve cleared the ground, we may stand alone, but we’ll have the reach, focus, and energy to get where we need to go.
