Disseminating Moon in Capricorn: Down to Earth

posted in: Capricorn, Disseminating Moon | 0

We’re entering the Disseminating phase, first lunar phase after the Full Moon. The Moon will have just entered Capricorn as the phase opens, a solid, grounded place to be after the intensity of the Scorpio Full Moon.

Yet this Moon brings her own intensity. Entering Capricorn, we shift from the exuberant explorations of Sagittarius to land squarely on the ground. The Moon, holder of emotions, finds herself in the grip of instinct, a physical sense of what to do that comes directly from the body.

This Moon is also out of bounds. Outside the limits of the Sun’s orbit, she follows no rule but her own.

These next few days will be good for physical work, connecting with the natural world, and staying grounded. Whatever journeys we made with the Sag Moon, it’s time to come home and get to work.

This Moon is not alone. She’s part of a kite pattern, a grand trine with an opposition and some sextiles to complete the design. This strong, focused pattern offers good support.

The Moon is part of a grand trine in Earth, with Mercury in early Taurus and the South Node in early Virgo. This alone is, literally, grounding.

We can get real work done, slowly, carefully, with attention to detail, and without attachment. Think of shepherds tending flocks, or farmers keeping their eye on new crops.

The opposition across the middle of the kite is the nodal opposition, with the North Node in Pisces at the top. The North Node sextiles the Moon and Mercury. The Earth planets are ready to do the work without seeing the outcome, but our Piscean dreams keep us moving. We hope for a good future even as we know it’s out of our control.

The square from Mars in Aries to Jupiter in Cancer begins to separate, but is still strong. Neither Jupiter nor Mars are part of the Moon’s kite pattern, but exert force. Jupiter expands Mars’ impact, which can erupt in unexpected and dangerous ways.

The Moon is sesquiquadrate the Sun, an awkward connection. This Taurus Sun still supports calm and measured action, though, in the face of whatever Mars and Jupiter bring. The Sun in the middle of Taurus understands how to work effectively to reach goals, and is also fortified by a sextile to Jupiter.

Pluto deepens the intensity as he stations. Mercury’s square to Pluto is exact today. Pluto will turn retrograde tomorrow. Staying calm and working steadily helps us meet Pluto’s challenge.

The Disseminating phase is generally one of sharing what we learned at the Full Moon, sending our insights out into our communities. This time, though, the Moon and her connections counsel quiet steadiness.

For the next few days, avoid fiery situations. Bring calm to those you cannot avoid. Hold steady to good purposes. Putting our focus on careful work will be the best preparation for whatever lies ahead.
