Today we enter the Gibbous phase with the Moon in the third decan of Virgo. This is a careful Moon, quiet and attentive to what’s going on.

This Moon is in between: Separating from a sextile to Jupiter and trine to Ceres, applying to trine Uranus and Venus in Gemini, quincunx Mercury and Eris, and sesquiquadrate the Sun (the square and a half that defines this phase).
Many conversations going on, with the Moon wanting to make sense of very different inputs. What is true? What do we need more data about? What is most urgent? What can wait?
The ground is shifting and the Virgo Moon wants to know where she stands. She steps carefully, not wanting to be caught off guard.
The Gibbous phase is a challenge before the Full Moon. This time, the challenge is making sense of a chaotic world in which many important things happen at once, and yet we need to choose where to put our focus and energy.
The key shift is that Venus and Uranus are now in Gemini.
Uranus is the big noise, because he is now firmly in Gemini. He dipped his toe in last year, but now he’s here for good. In speedy, multi-focused, clever Gemini, Uranus has great scope to innovate and revolutionize. We can expect time to speed up.
Venus moves through Gemini once a year, so, perhaps her arrival doesn’t seem that important. Yet it feels significant to me that she opened the door, so to speak. She was conjunct Uranus at the end of Taurus, her own sign. Then, passing Uranus, she stepped into Gemini and awaited his arrival.
I am holding on to the idea that Venus’ presence at Uranus’ ingress will emphasize creativity and community, bending innovation and revolution toward the common good.
Venus is also square the Nodes of the Moon. Uranus will reach this exact square on June 14. Both are at the North bending, heading toward the North Node of desire and of the future, reinforcing the innovative vibe.
The Moon will trine Venus and Uranus when she shifts into Libra tomorrow. Libra, Venus’ other sign, emphasizes the creative and community-oriented possibilities here.
We enter the Gibbous phase is a watchful mood. A big shift has happened. In Virgo, we watch for signs, note where the force is disturbed, figure out where our skills are needed and where the opportunities are. We recalibrate.
