About the Full Moon Phase: An Inspired Heart

posted in: Full Moon | 2

We tend to think of the Full Moon as something that happens in a moment. In this case, Thursday, June 24 at 2:40 pm EDT. Or maybe for one night.

Astrologically, the Full Moon phase begins at the moment the Sun and Moon are exactly opposite each other. It continues until the we reach the Disseminating Moon three days later.

Things happen during the Full Moon phase. This one is no exception.

Yesterday afternoon, Neptune stationed retrograde at 23 Pisces. This is important not because Neptune is now retrograde–this happens frequently–but because Neptune’s been at this same degree for a while. It’s an intensification of Neptunian influence and themes.

Remember that Neptune trine Venus at the Full Moon. Venus was also opposing Pluto at the point. Overnight, Venus enters Leo.

Here, the planet of creativity, values, and relating enters the sign of passionate creative play. Having communed with two intense outer planets–transformative Pluto and stationing Neptune–Venus now moves into a space of open, dramatic expression.

Having come through the crucible of these last weeks, what do we want to say? To express? To share?

As Venus enters Leo, the Moon, in Aquarius by then, moves to conjunct Saturn. Creative Leo wants expression and also longs for form. Shouting into the void might feel cathartic at times but we also want to express ourselves in the form that lasts.

Here we harken back to the Full Moon theme of caring for the body, our vehicle of expression in this lifetime. The Full Moon reminded us we need and deserve care. Now Venus says, and here’s what we can create now.

What does your heart long to express?

Neptune stationed at 23 Pisces yesterday – my moon is 23 Pisces. Did not feel the full moon coming in as I usually do but yesterday and today, I feel like I’m swimming in peanut butter !

My ascendant is in Leo and I am anxious to create a new place for me in this world — hard to create in a peanut butter jar! Ever try to clean one out to recycle it ? – that’s how I feel. But Venus and Mars in Leo may help. Doesn’t help that we have had major tornados and incessant heavy rain in Chicago for days while the west coast is parched!!

Thanks also for the info of the lasting full moon phase.
